Benefits Package

Insurance
Alba-Golden ISD provides group health insurance coverage through TRS-ActiveCare, the statewide public school health insurance program. The insurance plan year is from September 1 through August 31.
The district’s contribution to employee insurance premiums is currently $400 per month.

Cafeteria Plan Benefits
Alba-Golden ISD is proud to offer our employees the option to participate in a Cafeteria Plan (Section 125). Under IRS regulations, employees must either accept or reject this benefit. This plan enables eligible employees to pay certain insurance premiums on a pretax basis, i.e., disability, accidental death and dismemberment, cancer and dread disease, dental and additional term life insurance. A third party administrator handles employee claims made on these accounts.
Texas Teacher Retirement System
Alba-Golden ISD employees who are employed on a regular basis for one half or more of the standard full-time workload are eligible for membership in the Texas Teacher Retirement System (TRS).
